Dogs In Yellow: Raising Awareness For Anxious Dog's And Dog's That Need Space

What is the Yellow Dog Project?

The Yellow Dog Project is a registered charity that raises awareness to dogs who need space due to several reasons these could be training, recovering from surgery, or being rehabilitated. It aims to make walking a more enjoyable and safer experience for all.

A yellow ribbon or bandana on a dog symbolizes that the dog needs space.

Needing Space

There are many reasons why a dog may need space; this can be anything from health-related issues, a dog being rehabilitated or just being nervous and shy. Having a bad experience with another dog can also make them anxious around new people or animals.

What Can I Do To Support The Yellow Dog Project?

Next time you are out for a walk, with or without your dog, keep a lookout for dogs wearing yellow. Allowing time for the dog and its owner to get out of the way will help create a relaxed environment for them. Ultimately resulting in the dog becoming more comfortable being outside and socializing.

If you feel your dog is nervous on walks or around other people or animals, the yellow dog charity pledges to give yellow ribbons free of charge to any dog owners whose dogs ‘need space’. Let’s help you and your dog feel less anxious when out on walks.
