What We Offer

The Grange Retreat doesn’t just offer accommodation. We offer so much more, we don’t just want to meet your dogs basic needs, we intend to exceed them. Our facilities, staff and enrichment plans all strive to ensure that your pet has the perfect holiday experience during their stay at our luxury kennels in Essex.

  • Regular Exercise

All of our dogs receive in excess of the minimum 2 20 minute walks per day as required by licensing. We walk dogs at least twice per day around our 8 acres but alongside this we offer off-lead paddocking, where your dog can play fetch or have some social interaction with other dogs in our care, providing of course that they are a socialite rather than a Lone Ranger.

  • Stimulation

Our personalised enrichment programmes are tailored to meet your dogs every need. We have music, grooming, paddocking, lead walking, play time and safe toys just to name a few. We try to ensure that your dog receives both psychological and physical enrichment during their stay at The Grange Retreat.

  • Grooming

Our pets can get quite dirty when in our care, but we never return them to you mucky. All dogs receive a free bath before they leave to ensure that they are smelling fresh and clean on collection.

  • Cleaning

We have a rigorous cleaning processes to ensure that your pet’s suite remains clean during their stay. Whenever a pet has been in for a week or is leaving we ensure that the suite has been deep cleaned ready for our next guest.

  • Safe And Secure Spaces

Our kennels are built with security electric shutters to ensure that your pets are kept safe and secure during their stay. We also have secure paddock areas with 6 foot dig-proof fencing to ensure that dogs can play freely and securely during their stay.  The site also has CCTV coverage and the entrance is securely fenced.

Frequently Asked Questions

New customers understandably have questions about The Grange Retreat and the service we provide. We have listed some common questions customers ask before booking. If you have any further questions not listed we would be happy to help if you wanted to call or pop by.

  • Will my dogs be walked during their stay?

All dogs are walked during stays, with a minimum of 3 walks around the fields and a minimum of 2 paddocks each day, plus a bedtime paddock before bed-time biscuit and lights out.

  • My pets have particular exercise needs due to health conditions. Can you accommodate them and make sure they get their own exercise sessions?

Yes, we ask for a personality questionaire to be filled in for each pet, this helps us
provide an enrichment plan for your dog, if your dog can’t walk, we would use the same amount of time in the paddock off lead, so instead of 3 walks and 2 paddocks it would be 5 times in the paddock area.

  • My dog has specific dietary requirements which means he can’t eat regular dog food. Can you cater to his needs?

Each dietary requirement is written on a board for us to follow, if you require something specific you can provide the food and full instructions and this will be given daily.

  • I’d love to see my pets enjoying their time at Grange Retreat! Can you take some pictures for me so I can take a look at what they get up to?

Following a customer survey we implemented a policy to ensure that we post daily on Facebook and Instagram including photos and videos of all pets in our care. Any photos you would like can either be downloaded from Facebook or we can send them via email.

What Our Clients Say

Absolutely amazing service! I cannot rate The Grange Retreat highly enough. One of my dogs is rather anxious, but she adores her time here. The quality of the provision, safety and care is truly exceptional. I am extremely fussy regarding where my dogs stay/are groomed, so I feel so appreciative that I now have a wonderful place for them to stay when needed. Thank you to all of the staff for a brilliant experience and service!
