A Little About Our Luxury Cattery In Essex

We are a luxury cattery in Essex.  Our facilities have been designed for the utmost comfort of our guests.  All suites are kept to a snuggly warm temperature.  There are multiple shelving levels so your furry friend can stretch their legs.  There is an enclosed outdoor area for watching the wildlife attracted by our rural Essex location. We have a good stock of stimulating toys including a scratch post per cat for exercise and play.

What We Offer

The Grange Retreat doesn’t just offer accommodation. We offer so much more, we don’t just want to meet your cat’s basic needs, we intend to exceed them. Our facilities, staff, and enrichment plans all strive to ensure that your pet has the perfect holiday experience during their luxury getaway.

  • Exercise

    Our cat suites are spacious and all available space is used to its full potential with shelving at different levels so that your feline friend can be as active or lazy as they wish.  Our enrichment plans also offer further exercise through play, whether that is chasing lasers or catching little mice on sticks.

  • Stimulation

    Our personalised enrichment programmes are tailored to meet your cat’s every need. We have music, grooming, bird song, cuddle time, play time and safe toys just to name a few. We try to ensure that your cat receives both psychological and physical enrichment during their stay at The Grange Retreat.

  • Grooming

    Some cats have grooming needs, some just enjoy being pampered.  During their stay at The Grange Retreat we regularly brush our guests to ensure that they look radiant on their return home.

  • Cleaning

    We have a rigorous cleaning processes to ensure that your pet’s suite remains clean during their stay. Whenever a pet has been in for a week or is leaving we ensure that the suite has been deep cleaned ready for our next guest.

  • Safe and Secure Spaces

    Our cattery is built with security in mind to ensure that your pets are kept safe and secure during their stay. We have a double entry and exit system to ensure no escapees.  We also have an isolation suite in case one of our guests becomes unwell during their stay.

Cat Boarding Prices

To stay in our luxury cattery in Essex we charge:

£17 per day

All prices include daily health checks, complementary medication administration, thermostatically controlled heating, and a personalized enrichment plan tailored to the individual by the G.R Team.

15% Off every additional cat sharing a Pen (this is only allowable for cats from the same family)

All boarding fees are charged per calendar day; this includes day of arrival and day of departure.

Please note that Bank Holidays are charged at a Double Day rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

New customers understandably have questions about The Grange Retreat and the service we provide. We have listed some common questions customers ask before booking. If you have any further questions not listed we would be happy to help if you wanted to call or pop by.

  • Can I see photos of my cats enjoying their time at The Grange Retreat?

    Following a customer survey, we implemented a policy to ensure that we post daily on Facebook and Instagram including photos and videos of all pets in our care. Any photos you would like can either be downloaded from Facebook or we can send them via email.

  • My cat needs to take medicine at the same time every day. Will your staff make sure that he sticks to his medication schedule?

    We have a medication form that is filled in on arrival, this is kept with the Run Sheet and Enrichment sheets outside of the suite, medication is entered on a board and signed off by two members of staff to ensure the schedule is adhered to.

  • My two cats like to sleep near each other. Will this be possible if they stay at Grange Retreat?

    We have several family suites that would be suited to 2 or more cats from the same household so yes, they can share a suite!  We can even arrange their beds on the same shelf if they would prefer.

  • Are the staff at Grange Retreat qualified to provide appropriate care for pets of different breeds?

    All of our key members of staff are Level 3 certified in Feline Care, Behaviour, and Welfare.  Within this qualification, staff members learn about the varying needs of different breeds. There is always at least one key member of staff on-site to ensure that your pets remain safe, happy, and secure.
