What can make your feline friend happy?

Every cat has their own unique personality and traits which can sometimes make it harder for us as owners to read how they are feeling and know when they are happy. They can express themselves through body language and vocalisation. A good indication that your cat is happy is a Meow! A high pitch purr is a sign of contentment.

Playtime and Grooming

Playfulness also suggests that a cat is relaxed, happy and with someone they feel comfortable around. Playful activities such as chasing feathers is not only great stimulation but helps build a bond between you and your pet.

If your cat is feeling good they will keep themselves well groomed and in tip top condition. They will also groom other cats or even lick their owner. Cats eyes are also a tell tale of how they are feeling. Dilation of the eyes is a good sign it suggests that they are happy.

Cat

Posture

Relaxed posture is key to understanding how your feline friend is feeling. An anxious or irritated cat will straighten its legs and the hairs will be standing up on the back of its spine. A comfortable cat will have its tail straight up if standing paws tucked under if sleeping. Again this indicates that they are relaxed and content.

By looking out for certain behaviour traits in your cat you can ensure that it will lead a happy and fulfilled life.
