What Is The Day of Veterinary Medicine?

The International Day of Veterinary Medicine dedicates itself to recognising the field of medicine that helps keep our pets alive. It is also a day devoted to the people who practice it. It celebrates the companies that work hard to ensure that information is made available to pet owners so we are able to make the best choices for them.

What Does Veterinary Medicine Do?

It is estimated that there are 1.8million vets worldwide. They work around the clock to keep our animals safe with ongoing training and education to stay at the very front of medicine. Our local vets are also vital to our communities. They neuter strays and rescued animals which helps them stay healthy and makes sure there aren’t too many animals on the streets without homes.

Truly without the work of these amazing people, we wouldn’t be able to keep our pets as healthy as they are. Today is a great opportunity to teach the younger generation about the great work that Vets do. It could inspire them to want to take up a career in Veterinary medicine.

Other ways to celebrate today could be to thank your vet for their continued hard work. After all, a kind message could make their day!

What Veterinary Practice Does The Grange Retreat Use

The Grange Retreat uses Spring Lodge Vets as our designated vets.  We have found Spring Lodge to be incredibly helpful, professional, and they unfailingly put animal needs first and foremost.

If any animal comes into our care unwell or falls unwell during their stay, we contact Spring Lodge to arrange a consultation.  We take animals with health concerns, we even take animals in recovery from operations and update their care plan to ensure that their illnesses or injuries are not affected further.  Unless the situation is an emergency we always make a call to pet owners first to update them and make sure that they agree with our course of action.
