What Do We Offer at The Grange?
Manager of The Grange Retreat
I started this business because I have two of my own beautiful dogs. While I love taking my dogs away with me where I can, this hasn’t always been possible, and so begins the search for kennels… Will they be happy here? Am I happy leaving them here? Will they have all they need? Be truly cared for, as I would care for them at home? As a dog owner myself I know that leaving your pet in kennels can be quite a daunting prospect for both people and pets. This is when I realised I could really make a difference to pets and owner’s alike.
I sat down and made pages and pages of notes on what I would want for my own pets; I researched into the industry, the services that are already provided and the services that I thought should be. For every issue that affected me and my pets I attempted to arrive at a solution. I would like to share these with you:
I wanted to create a place where you can enjoy your holiday in the knowledge that your pet is enjoying theirs. I personally invite you to come and visit us at The Grange Retreat, check out our facilities and meet our staff. I promise you will not be disappointed.
General Manager at The Grange Retreat
I started my veterinary career at Medivet Southend in September 2000, completing my first year of my veterinary nursing portfolio and qualification in 2001.
In the summer of 2002, I moved into the charity side of the veterinary world working at the PDSA Pet Aid Hospital in Essex and qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse. I was with the PDSA from 2002 until 2015, gaining an abundance of experience in an extremely busy veterinary hospital and specialising in Schedule 3 surgery, Ward Management and Nurse clinics. I also progressed into management and oversaw the running of the nursing team and wonderful out of hours teams.
I returned to Medivet in 2015 as Head of Theatre at their busy 24hour veterinary hospital, progressing up the managerial chain to Deputy Head Nurse, Assistant Area Manager and then in 2017, I became an Area Manager, overseeing 8 veterinary practices and supporting the veterinary staff across these Essex sites.
In April 2019, I was lucky enough to join The Grange Group as General Manager of the newly established Grange Retreat and I am excited to start my journey here.
On a personal note, I am unashamedly obsessed with anything canine and absolutely adore all dogs. I currently have 6 rescue dogs of my own – Kiki and Ida – The pugs, Fraggle and Herb my little crossbreeds, Elsie the French Bulldog and Reggie the cheeky terrier cross.
I very much look forward to welcoming you and your pets to The Grange Retreat, and ensuring that their stay is an incredible, fun-filled time!
